More

Objective

To position Cloud.com as a leading provider of open source private and public cloud computing software, specifically an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution that delivers all of the essential components used to build, deploy and manage multi-tier and multi-tenant cloud applications.

Strategy

With the growing popularity of cloud computing, Mindshare PR sees an enormous market opportunity for Cloud.com. In order to break through the noise and deliver strong, key messages to top-tier industry media and analysts, Mindshare PR emphasizes how the company has developed an entirely new approach to IaaS and continues to find unique angles to secure coverage.

Results

Mindshare PR launched Cloud.com's first product on May 4, 2010. Securing over 20 top-tier media briefings, Mindshare PR helped place coverage in influential industry and business media including GigaOM, Network World, InfoWorld and TechNewsWorld. In addition, Mindshare PR also helped place coverage in industry-leading blogs including ZDNet, virtualization.info, CNET and Virtualization.com. As a result of this coverage, the launch led to dozens of partner leads that are currently being pursued.

Pano LogicPano Logic

Pano Logic delivers zero client desktop computing solutions. Pano Logic's all-in-one hardware and software solution redefines the delivery and management of end user computing by radically centralizing desktop management. Mindshare PR worked with Pano Logic from the company's launch in August 2007 through August 2009.
More

Objective

To position Pano Logic as the leader in centralized virtual desktops while educating the market about the difference between zero client and thin client offerings and other virtual desktop alternatives.

Strategy

Mindshare PR started work with Pano Logic in July 2007. The initial plan was to launch the company at VMworld; however, with the noise and increase in news around VMworld, Mindshare quickly recommended launching two weeks before the show to take advantage of the quieter news cycle and drive attendees to the Pano Logic booth at the show. With seven weeks until the launch date, the Mindshare team effectively worked with Pano executives to finalize launch messaging and objectives, and began scheduling briefings with industry analysts.  Using early feedback to understand the key messages that were resonating, Mindshare set to work scheduling media briefings to emphasize Pano Logic's entirely new approach to centrally managed desktops.

Results

Mindshare PR launched Pano Logic’s first product on August 27, 2007. The team secured more than 20 media briefings, resulting in extensive coverage among top-tier technology and business media including The Wall Street Journal, Wired, eWeek, InformationWeek and PC Magazine. This coverage generated 700 leads, with 200 potential customers immediately registering on the company's website to buy the product. Additionally, the launch led to dozens of partner leads, helping build a strong partner program and resulting in Pano Logic being named a CRN Emerging Tech Vendor in 2008 and 2009. Mindshare also helped the company secure recognition as an AlwaysOn top 250 private company, a CRN "Coolest Emerging Technology Vendor", and being listed as one of InformationWeek’s Startup 50 in 2008.

XenSource

XenSource was founded to develop server virtualization solutions based on the high-performance open source Xen hypervisor. Mindshare PR worked with XenSource from January 2005 through its successful $500 million acquisition by Citrix Systems in October 2007.
More

Objective

To position XenSource as a leader in the virtualization market and educate the market on the open source Xen hypervisor and the company's commercial solutions.

Strategy

Mindshare PR began working with XenSource when it was founded in January 2005. The initial communications objectives were to help support the growth of the thriving open source Xen community while also developing XenSource as a separate commercial entity with enterprise-class offerings. Mindshare PR leveraged the deep technical and business expertise of the executive team, including CTO Simon Crosby, to create a platform for XenSource's products and open source Xen in the traditionally proprietary hypervisor market, and help galvanize the server virtualization market.

Results

During its tenure, Mindshare PR oversaw eight product launches and secured more than 15 top-tier media briefings per launch. From these outreach efforts, XenSource garnered more than 200 unique features in 2006 and 250 unique features in 2007. In addition to media coverage, Mindshare PR secured more than 30 speaking engagements including sessions at the 2008 Burton Group Catalyst Conference and the June 2008 Virtualization Conference & Expo, as well as keynotes at the 2008 Next Generation Data Center Conference in San Francisco, Interop 2007 and the Ziff Davis Virtualization Summit 2007. Mindshare PR worked with XenSource through its acquisition by Citrix in 2007 for $500 million.
